It is interesting that the Moon and the Sun look the same size in the sky. Around 71 eclipses, i.e., 43 solar eclipses and 28 lunar eclipses, occur during the cycle. The theory of the period is described in the so-called saros cycle. Over the years, people have realized that a solar eclipse is an astronomical phenomenon with a certain period of reoccurrence.

This suggests the importance of the influence of the Sun. The more especially as the eclipse, can be felt even physically, i.e., the temperature may drop even by 15 degrees within a short period of time. Since ancient times, solar eclipses frightened people it is not usual that suddenly the sky darkens and the Sun seems to disappear, and a watching black eye which seems to bring nothing goods appears instead of it.
